The Nadia Dress

The Nadia Dress was originally made for my Summer Collection Presentation in 2015. My lovely friend, Nadia, cooked cakes for days and kept the prosecco and coffee flowing through two catwalks presentations and hours of consultations, fittings and measurements in her home!

Nadia was intrinsic in suggesting, planning and managing my very first Collection Presentation, and she went above and beyond the realms of friendship to pull off what became a really successful day for my business, and for me personally.

On the day, Nadia also wore one of my designs. A simple, silky-soft cupro dress with a tie-waist belt in black. As all the orders for “the-dress-that-Nadia-is-wearing” came in, the name stuck. It was the most ordered piece that season!

The Nadia Dress is shown above in black Cupro with a matching fabric tie belt, but it can be made in any number of fabrics.  I have made it into a top in cupro, silk and jersey. I keep it at high hip length, and layer it over longer line tank tops with jeans and shorts.

I’ve also made a dress with a simple sleeve hack from a lovely heavy weight linen. I cut the length shorter and wear it without a belt for a chic and cool summer look.

Happy Sewing!
